In line with the concept of "student-oriented and serving students",  Student Union of College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering dedicates itself to student work with a positive attitude and full enthusiasm, and carries out a variety of activities, which not only enhance the ability of students, but also enhance the cohesion of the college and make the atmosphere of the college more harmonious.

 Student Union of our college attaches great importance to the basic training of student leaders. We organize student cadre training regularly and make great effort to improve students' quality. After the recruitment of new cadres, we hold the inaugural meeting of Student Union and opening ceremony of cadre training. The new cadres display their talents on the stage, from which we can feel their vigor. Teachers and senior cadres respectively make speeches, showing their hope for the new term. We believe we can do better and make great progress.

At the beginning of the new term, our college holds the lecture for new students with the hope that it can help new students find their goals and move forward. We talk about some events of new college life and solve the new students’ questions patiently. What’s more, we invite senior students to share their experiences with new students. This activity gains students’ popularity.

In order to enrich students' campus life, promote the culture of high-tech enterprises and help students have a deeper understanding of national high-tech enterprises, our college organizes enterprise visit activities. The students have the chance to visit enterprises to learn about enterprise related information and gain knowledge that couldn't be acquired from textbook, which may help them realize the direction of employment and have a better plan of their college life.

Students in College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering could participate the Guangdong Physics Experiment Design Competition, the Photoelectric Design Competition and the Nuclear plus X Competition as "Nuclear plus X" contest project.  Student Union of our college respond positively, opening a lecture to introduce the contest. Last year, 33 projects were established in total.

Every year we have the graduation season. At this time, we will hold a farewell party for the graduates. A variety of brilliant performances are presented. This activity expresses our best wishes to the graduates.
